Japanese manufacturer Honda  (HMC) - Get Free Report had a great year in 2023, which it owes in part to the hybrid models of the best-selling CR-V crossover SUV and the Accord sedan, which represented over a one-quarter of total sales.

The automaker seeks to increase that share and is reviving a beloved model in order to achieve its goal.

In a statement released on January 18, Honda previewed the return of the Civic Hybrid after an absence of almost a decade.

The new Civic Hybrid is a peek at the refreshed Civic lineup for the 2025 model year, which includes styling tweaks such as new aggressive bumpers, wheels and more features.

No details on the Civic Hybrid's powertrain, power figures or price were shared by Honda, but the brand expects that the Hybrid version will account for 40% of sales of the Civic model.

In addition to the new Civic Hybrid, Honda has a packed year for new cars in store. In 2024 alone, the automaker plans to roll out a updated Odyssey minivan, a hydrogen fuel-cell powered version of the CR-V, in addition to the Prologue EV "in the coming months."
