India vs South Africa: Ishan Kishan to miss Test series due to personal reasons

Ishan Kishan will not be a part of the upcoming Test series against South Africa due to personal reasons. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), in a statement, said that the wicketkeeper-batsman has been released from the Test squad.

“Ishan Kishan has requested the BCCI to be released from the upcoming Test series against South Africa citing personal reasons. The wicket-keeper has subsequently been withdrawn from the Test squad,” the Board said in a statement.

Additionally, BCCI named K.S. Bharat as a replacement in the squad.

India are scheduled to play two Test matches against South Africa with the first one taking place between 26-30 December at SuperSport Park in Centurion and the second slated for 3-7 January in the new year in Newlands.
