New Delhi: Russia and Ukraine are two countries that have been at war for more than a year and till date, the countries are fighting, not ready to give up and declare truce. The war between the two nations saw a major and unfortunate turn when a missile assault was carried out by Russia, on Odesa, the Black Sea Port city of Ukraine. At least five people have been killed and many were injured including children and a pregnant woman. The structure, popularly known as the ‘Harry Potter Castle’ was engulfed, residential buildings were damaged and the attack also negatively impacted other important infrastructure. The attack has been confirmed by the Ukrainian authorities as they shared a footage of the Russian Missile attack has been shared by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

As mentioned earlier, a Russian missile assault on the Black Sea port city of Odesa has left at least five individuals dead and more than 30 wounded, as confirmed by Ukrainian authorities, CNN reported. A video footage, released by Ukraine’s Prosecutor General, captures the harrowing moment when numerous bomblets erupted in quick succession near the seafront, unleashing chaos and devastation. Tragically, among the injured were two children and a pregnant woman, underscoring the indiscriminate nature of the assault. Furthermore, the assault inflicted significant damage to nearly 20 residential buildings and critical infrastructure, compounding the already dire situation.

‘Harry Potter Castle’ Destroyed, Missile Debris Recovered

Among the structures ravaged by the assault was an educational institution colloquially referred to as the “Harry Potter castle” due to its striking resemblance to the iconic Scottish architectural style. Images disseminated by officials depict the once-majestic cone-shaped towers and roof engulfed in flames, painting a sombre picture of the aftermath, as reported by CNN. According to Ukrainian authorities, the assault was orchestrated using an Iskander ballistic missile alongside cluster munitions, underscoring the brutality of the attack. Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin revealed the recovery of missile debris and metal fragments strewn across a wide radius, indicating the ferocity of the strike.

In another news, an attack was also undertaken by Ukraine in Crimea but the Russian officials have claimed that they were able to intercept the missile and drone onslaught; the attack was cautioned by the Kremlin-appointed civilian authority Sergey Aksyonov. According to Russian military bloggers, the targets of this attack were majorly airfields.
