Is there a more dominant team across all sport that India in cricket at the moment! The Men in Blue are absolutely bossing it in their home World Cup and how! They had demolished Sri Lanka by 302 runs at the Wankhede but their 243-run victory over the Proteas today was even more dominant. Especially since it came against a side that had been dishing out one clinical performance after another along the way. Today’s contest was supposed to be a battle of the equals but the scoreline suggests otherwise.

The victory also assures India the top spot at the end of the group stage after collecting their eighth victory in as many outings, and they’re unlikely to take the foot off the gas pedal in their final outing of the tournament even if it is against Netherlands. South Africa, meanwhile, remain second despite the defeat and are already through to the knockouts along with India, but will have the tough task of putting this disastrous performance behind them and starting afresh in the knockouts. They face Afghanistan in their final league outing, and will hope to regain their confidence with a victory in that game.
