Chennai Super Kings (CSK) continued to occupy the third spot on the Indian Premier League (IPL) points table after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday.

CSK are now tied on eight points with Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), both of whom have better Net Run Rates.

SRH, meanwhile, remain ninth out of 10 teams after suffering their second consecutive defeat. SRH are tied on four points with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who also have lost four out of six matches but have a super NRR compared to the Aiden Markram-led side.

SRH sit one spot above the Delhi Capitals (DC), who remain at the bottom of the table despite collecting their first win of the season against KKR on Thursday after losing their first five matches in a row.

As for the mid-table teams, defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) are tied on six points with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), with Gujarat having the best NRR of the quartet to sit at the fourth spot.

List of Orange Cap and Purple Cap holders

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis consolidated himself at the top of the batting chart after smashing a 56-ball 84 against Punjab Kings on Thursday, taking his season run tally to 343. David Warner, who scored a match-winning 57 against KKR, is in second spot with 285 runs. Virat Kohli, who filled in as skipper for RCB against PBKS, occupies third spot after 59 run knock took his tally to 279.

A Royal Challengers Bangalore player also occupies the top spot in the bowling charts with Mohammed Siraj jumping to the top spot following his IPL-best haul of 4/21 against Punjab Kings, taking his tally to 12 in six games. Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mark Wood and Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal occupy the second and third spots respectively, both having collected 11 wickets.
