Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Wednesday completed a remarkable 10-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 26 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Jaipur, to go eight points from six matches.

The Royals, also with eight points, remained on top of the IPL standings despite the defeat, with LSG also on the same points. Only a better NRR for the Royals (+1.043) separate them from the Super Giants (+0.709).

Four teams, including MI, are currently tied on six points from five games, with the third-placed Chennai Super Kings with the best NRR among those teams (+0.265)

Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, find themselves at the bottom with five defeats in as many games, and are on the verge of bowing out of the playoffs race.

List of Orange Cap and Purple Cap holders

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis became the holder of the Orange Cap after his 33-ball 62 against Chennai Super Kings on 17 April, taking his tally this season to 259 runs. Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler (244) and Kolkata Knight Riders’ Venkatesh Iyer (234) are in the second and third spots respectively.

Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mark Wood retained the Purple Cap on Wednesday, despite not playing the game. Both Chahal and Wood have collected 11 wickets each but the England pacer has the better economy (8.12) of the two. Gujarat Titans’ Rashid Khan is third on the list with 11 wickets as well.
