The all-important Indian Premier League (IPL) auction is set to take place on 19 December in Dubai. It will be the first time the auction will be taking place outside India. Ahead of it, the players have been retained, released and traded. Some blockbuster news have already taken place such as Hardik Pandya moving to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans. If that wasn’t enough of a jaw-dropper, he has been named as the captain of the Mumbai Indians franchise for the 2024 IPL season.

A total of 333 players have put their name into the ring for the IPL Auction. It includes 214 Indians and 119 overseas cricketers. Further, 116 of them have played international cricket while 215 are uncapped and two come from Associate nations.
A total of 77 slots need to be filled across 10 teams, including 30 for overseas players.
