Kalki 2898 AD: Kamal Haasan Says ‘I Was Astonished’ on His Limited Screen Time as Supreme Yaskin in Sci-Fi Epic

Within just two days of its release, Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, which has received a resounding reception at the global box office, has amassed over Rs 250 crore within three days. Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Prabhas play the key characters in this epic dystopian sci-fi action movie.

Kamal Haasan appears as Supreme Yaskin in the sci-fi epic, for a very brief time. Addressing his little screen time in the film, the actor revealed that he has a significant part in the sequel. At a recent press conference in Chennai, he said “In Kalki, I have played a small role that makes an appearance for a few minutes only. My real part in the film has only begun and I will have more to do in the second part. So, I watched this film as a fan and I was astonished.”

He further added that Kalki 2898 AD is one of several indicators that Indian film is heading toward international entertainment. Nag Ashwin approached mythology with caution and impartiality toward all religions. The narrative legacy of India is unmatched by any other culture, except Greece, Japan, and China. Ashwin has selected stories from it and, by assembling everyone, has carried it out very patiently.

About Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’

In the movie, Amitabh Bachchan portrays the immortal Ashwatthama, who seeks to save Deepika Padukone, who is carrying a child. It’s stated that Deepika’s child would improve people’s futures. Bhairava of Prabhas is regarded as one of the most potent powers in the universe. Kamal Haasan plays the purported God of the Complex, Supreme Yaskin. Disha Patani also appears in Kalki 2898 AD along with surprising cameos by Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, and Dulquer Salmaan. Inspired by Hindu texts, Nag Ashwin’s post-apocalyptic thriller takes place in the year 2898 AD.

In the meantime, Kamal Haasan is excited about Indian 2‘s July 12 release. The follow-up to his action thriller Indian from 1996 is the vigilante action thriller. The official version of the 2020 Tamil drama Soorarai Pottru, helmed by Shankar, will compete at the film office with Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira.
