Ranveer Singh Pens Heartwarming Note For Virat Kohli As He Announces Retirement From T20 Cricket: ‘What A Way…’
Ranveer Singh penned a beautiful note for Virat Kohli, who announced his retirement from T20 format after the men in blue lifted the ICC T20 World Cup trophy.
The Indian cricket team once again scripted history and made the entire nation proud by lifting the T20 World Cup trophy. As the Men in Blue bring back the trophy to the country, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from this format. Following this, Bollywood star Ranveer Singh reacted to his decision by penning a heartfelt note for Virat and his teammates on Instagram.
Sharing the note on his Instagram stories, Ranveer wrote, “The KING dropping the anchor, what a way to cap an incredible career.” The Dil Dhadakne Do actor also acknowledged other players achievement, including Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya, in his long post. Ranveer also paid tribute and respect to India’s coach and former cricketer Rahul Dravid.
He further added, “What a way to win. It was all but lost. And then…the fight back…What a befitting tribute to one of the greatest champions of Indian cricket, Rahul ‘THE WALL’ Dravid.”
Virat Kohli on Taking Retirement From T20 Format
Talking about retirement, Virat Kohli said, “This was my last T20 World Cup, this is exactly what we wanted to achieve,” Kohli told the broadcasters after India ended an 11-year ICC title drought.”
“One day you feel like you can’t get a run and then this happens. God is great. (It is) just the occasion, now or never kind of situation. This was my last T20 game playing for India. We wanted to lift that cup.” He added, “Yes I have, this was an open secret (retirement). Not something that I wasn’t going to announce even if we had lost. Time for the next generation to take the T20 game forward.”
India stunned everyone by clinching their second ICC T20 World Cup title with a thrilling seven-run triumph over South Africa at Barbados’ Kensington Oval on Saturday. The victory sparked intense emotions among Team India members: Rohit Sharma, overwhelmed, collapsed to the ground, while Rahul Dravid jubilantly leapt from his chair. Turning to Ranveer Singh, he is set to appear next in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, which is currently in production.
