Kangana Ranaut Slap Controversy: From Bilkis Dadi to Clashes With Diljit Dosanjh-Rihanna During Farmers Protest, All You Need to Know
Did Kulwinder Kaur plan to slap Kangana Ranaut in 2020? Here's what the actor said that triggered the CISF personnel.
Actor Kangana Ranaut, who recently became the MP for Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, faced an unexpected incident at Chandigarh airport when a CISF personnel Kulwinder Kaur allegedly slapped her. Kulwinder in her statement said she got triggered by Kangana’s old remark during the farmers protest. While looking at the camera, Kaur said, “She gave a statement… that farmers are sitting there for Rs 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she gave this statement…”
This incident is linked to Kangana Ranaut’s controversial comments on the farmer protests of 2020-21.
It Started With Misidentification of Bilkis Dadi
In 2020, during the farmer protests against three new agricultural laws introduced by the Modi government, Kangana Ranaut mistakenly identified an elderly woman farmer from Punjab as Bilkis Bano. Bilkis Bano had gained fame during the anti-CAA protests in Shaheen Bagh. Kangana’s derogatory tweet suggested that the woman was “available for Rs 100” to participate in protests. This tweet sparked a heated exchange with singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh.
Diljit posted a video of the actual farmer, Mahinder Kaur, and criticised Kangana for her insensitive remarks. He emphasised the need to think before speaking or writing, highlighting the struggles of farmers.

Mahinder Kaur responded by inviting Kangana to work in the fields for a day, offering to pay her Rs 100 to experience a farmer’s life firsthand.
Kangana Ranaut’s Clash with Rihanna
In February 2021, international pop star Rihanna tweeted about the farmer protests, drawing global attention. Kangana reacted strongly, calling Rihanna a “fool” and labeling the protesters as “terrorists” attempting to divide India. She accused them of making India vulnerable to Chinese control.
Rihanna’s tweet was praised worldwide for shedding light on the protests, while Kangana’s harsh response drew criticism. Many urged Kangana to learn from Rihanna’s courage in addressing significant issues.

Now, The Slap Incident
On June 6, at Chandigarh airport, Kangana Ranaut was reportedly slapped by CISF personnel Kulwinder Kaur over her past comments on the farmer protests. This incident has added another chapter to the ongoing controversies surrounding her outspoken nature. The actor on Friday morning spoke on her Instagram stories, where she shared a tweet by former Indian Army Officer Gaurav Arya, who had written on X: “CISF Constable Kulwinder Kaur who attacked Kangna Ranaut will be punished. She may lose her job. That is what she probably planned all along. This whole thing about supporting the farmer’s protest is utter nonsense.”
Sharing the tweet, Kangana wrote: “This makes most sense to me, she strategically waited for me to cross her and in a signature Khalistani style quietly came from behind and hit my face without saying a word.”
