Kevin O'Leary Voices His Support For Apple's Latest Product Launch

At its developer conference (WWDC) June 5, Apple unveiled its most significant product launch since 2014's Apple Watch: the Vision Pro.

The augmented reality headset -- which will retail for $3,499 when it launches early next year -- acts as Apple's introduction to the world of "spatial computing."

The device, as CEO Tim Cook put it, is the first  (AAPL) - Get Free Report product that users will "look through and not at."

Despite being somewhat skeptical of the expensive product, Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary thinks that it won't take much to create a big market for the sci-fi goggles.

"There's two billion cell phone users on the Apple platform right now. All you need is one-half of 1% to even want to try this $4,000 headset and you've got a monster market," he told Yahoo Finance. "In that sense, I think the narrative should be 'let's see what happens.'"

Though he said that he himself wouldn't want to "wear a computer" on his face, Mr. Wonderful pointed to some of the benefits that could entice potential buyers.

Virtual tours of distant homes or apartments, or even museums at the other end of the world, could bring immersive experiences directly to consumers, reducing the need for costly travel.

"Now you're talking. I can see that happening," he said, adding that he might even be interested in marketing his wine company through this kind of technology.

"'They don't know what they want until you give it to them,'" he said, citing Steve Jobs.
