Meet actress who started acting for pocket money, became overnight star with debut movie, romanced Ajay Devgn, Rajkumar Rao, Siddharth

The actress started her journey in South Indian cinema, where she quickly rose to stardom. In 2014, she made her Bollywood debut in Divya Khosla Kumar’s film, Yaariyan, which became an unlimited success, specifically for its superhit songs. The film’s popularity and her performance turned her into an overnight sensation. Since then, she has appeared in different romantic comedies, starring alongside big names like Ajay Devgn, Rajkummar Rao, Siddharth, and Ayushmann Khurrana. Her dream of becoming an actress became always at the forefront, and he or she started her career in modelling at the age of 18, while still in college. Some months ago, Rakul married producer and actor Jackky Bhagnani in Goa. The couple were neighbours for the longest time and had mutual friends. At some point of lockdown, they came close, started spending time together at home and their connection deepened. Rakul and Jackky found closeness in these tough times and their love blossomed from friendship to relationship. Rakul had mentioned in her interview how she introduced Jackky to her parents. She told a news portal, “I think I became the foremost worried. I prepped my dad and told him ‘he is coming and meeting you for the primary time. Do now not make it very awkward. He is now not army.’ But then fathers being fathers, he asked the question straight up. But Jackky became prepared.”

She continued, “He had come to Delhi for my mom’s birthday. I had prepped my dad saying don’t make it awkward because we had just started dating. I told him ‘you only see the boy’. I told Jackky now not to stress because he won’t ask anything else. Then we were having lunch and my dad asked him what his plan became. He started with plans for his next liberate, Mission Raniganj. My dad just said, ‘work and all is nice but what is your plan with my daughter’. My food got stuck in my throat”.
