Nayanthara expresses gratitude as photographer says 'Jawan is not a movie but a festival'

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan has been sending the entire nation into frenzy ever since its release on 7 September. As Jawan’s lead actress Nayanthara made her way back home after attending the film’s special screening on Wednesday, the 38-year-old was met with a special compliment at Mumbai airport. The actress who sported an elegant blue anarkali kurta look, was captured alongside filmmaker-husband Vignesh Shivan, when she was told by a photographer how ‘Jawan is not a movie but a festival.’

Overwhelmed by the response, Nayanthara, who is marked her Bollywood debut with Jawan, smiled back and expressed gratitude.

In the clips making rounds on social media, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan can be seen heading towards the entrance, hand-in-hand, as paparazzi keep capturing them.

Nayanthara, who made her Instagram debut ahead of Jawan’s release, has amassed over 3.6 million followers in days. The actress recently visited a popular Mumbai theatre Gaiety Galaxy Cinema alongside director Atlee to surprise fans and see their reaction while watching their film.

Produced by Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, the film stars Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Yogi Babu, Sunil Grover and Riddhi Dogra among others. In addition, Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara starrer film also features Deepika Padukone in a cameo.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has already amassed an impressive Rs 51.17 crore through worldwide advance bookings, beating Shah Rukh Khan’s earlier release Pathaan in India.

Taran Adarsh wrote, “BREAKING: #Jawan hits HALF-CENTURY even before release at the WW Box Office Advance Sales Day 1 India – Rs 32.47 crore Overseas – Rs 18.70 crore. Total World Wide Gross – ₹ 51.17 crore. Also, #ShahRukhKhan BEATS #Pathaan opening day advance booking of ₹32 crore in India.”

In order to make the most of the first show of the first day, fans rushed to several theatres in Mumbai where they showed their love for King Khan. Bollywood’s Badshaah, on his part, ruled out how he ‘kept awake’ all this while to see young boys and girls flock to theatres.

Jawan marked Nayanthara’s Bollywood debut and she has been showered with love and good wishes from fans all over the world. The film was released on 7 September in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
