An FIR has been filed at Budgam police station against a Wing Commander after a lady flying officer lodged a complaint accusing him of rape. The Indian Air Force (IAF) stated that it is some distance fully cooperating with the police within the investigation. Both the Indian Air Force (IAF) officers are currently stationed in Srinagar. A day after the complaint by the girl officer, the FIR less than Section 376(2) of the IPC became filed at Budgam police station in central Kashmir on Sunday, the officials said.

“We're attentive to the case. The Air Force Station in Srinagar became approached by the local Budgam police station on the subject. We're fully cooperating towards this case,” a senior IAF official became quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Based on officials, the 26-year-old woman officer has alleged that she became subjected to “continuous harassment, sexual assault, and mental torture” “primarily by authorities at the Air Force Station, Srinagar”.

In her complaint, the officer alleged that at a New Year birthday celebration at the officers’ mess on December 31, 2023, her senior asked whether she had received the gift. “I said I had now no longer received any. The Wing Commander asked me to come again to his room where he has kept the whole gifts,” she said, PTI reported.

The girl said when she went along with him to his room, his family became now no longer there, and upon inquiring, he spoke back that they were someplace else. Furthermore, She alleged that her senior forced her into oral sex and molested her. She added, “I over and over asked him to forestall doing it and tried to withstand it in all ways which that you possibly can take note. Eventually, I pushed him and ran away.”

The girl officer said when she reached out to two other women officers, they guided her to file a complaint. “The Wing Commander became made to take a seat down down with me on January 29 and 30. He noted down my statement and examination,” she said, adding, she objected to his presence and then the investigation became “closed to hide mistakes of the administration”.

Later, the girl officer alleged she became told to place in a fresh application addressed to the Internal Committee, and when she did so, it took two months for the station to assemble an Internal Committee.

“The bias of Stn (Station) authorities to help the sexual offender became very heart-breaking for me,” she has said, alleging that a medical examination became now no longer done till she insisted a couple of times. “The IC (internal committee) did now no longer do its job properly as directions had come from higher formation to keep the outcome as neutral. One and all became aiding the sexual offender,” the flying officer alleged.

She alleged she is “forced to socialize with these people and attend events with my abuser”. “While he is enjoying. I get harassed in (the) hands of authorities on a on a day to day basis basis,” she alleged.

The Internal Committee has stated that it is some distance inconclusive whether the incident happened or now no longer brought on by lack of an eyewitness and closed its probe in May, she said. “Isn’t it common sense that somebody would now no longer do sexual assault in front of a witness?” she added.

The girl officer has complained of “continuous mental harassment” and “social boycott”. “My personal communications have been constantly monitored unofficially. The individuals I speak with are harassed by the authorities,” she alleged, requesting the police initiate appropriate legal action against the perpetrators. She to boot added, “I am hoping you possibly can take immediate action to ensure that that justice is served and that my rights are protected.”
