Pregnant Maleesa Mooney's autopsy shows L.A. model was found dead in refrigerator with 'blunt force trauma' injuries
Maleesa Mooney, a 31-year-old model, who was found dead on 12th September, in her apartment in Los Angeles, was 2 months pregnant and was involved in a physical altercation before her death, revealed the autopsy report.
“The blunt force traumatic injuries observed at autopsy are generally not considered acutely life threatening on their own,” the medical examiner wrote in the autopsy report. “However, based on the circumstances of how Ms. Mooney was found, these injuries suggest she was likely involved in violence physical altercation prior to her death.” Therefore, it is “uncertain” what role drugs or alcohol may have played in her death, if any, the report reads.
Maleesa’s sister Jourdin Pauline said that the model was two months pregnant. “She was super excited and I know she really wanted a kid, and it’s something that she has always talked about,” Pauline, 24, told PEOPLE earlier this month. She also revealed her late sister’s boyfriend was “heartbroken” about the incident.
“Based on the history, circumstances, and autopsy findings, as currently known, Ms. Mooney’s death was likely the result of, or at least related to, the action of another individual(s),” the report read. “Without findings to elucidate a clear mechanism of death, or knowledge of the sequence of events leading up to Ms. Mooney’s death, the cause of death is deemed homicidal violence. The manner of death is homicide.
