Social media is one of the most commonly used platforms by people including celebrities. While it’s an easy and popular form of interactive tool across the globe today, there have been several times when we end up doing blunders on it. It’s not just us but there are also moments when celebrities also become victims of accidental social media fails, resulting in significant backlash and criticism.

One such instance recently caught fans’ attention after Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh mistakenly tweeted a wrong picture on a promotional post. Following the cue from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ranveer Singh, while promoting Lakshadweep tourism, seemingly got things goofed up as he unintentionally uploaded a picture of Maldives and not the Indian island.

While sharing the picture of the exotic island, Ranveer wrote, “This year let’s make 2024 about exploring India and experiencing our culture. There is so much to see and explore across the beaches and the beauty of our country. Chalo India let’s #exploreindianislands. Chalo bharat dekhe.”

However, netizens were too quick to point out that the picture shared by Ranveer is not of Lakshadweep but of Maldives. “You are promoting Indian islands while putting a picture of Maldives. What is wrong with you, Ranveer?” a user wrote while sharing a screenshot of the now-deleted tweet.

Ranveer, in a quick response, deleted the post and shared it again, this time without any picture. However, it seems like netizens were in no mood to spare the Simmba actor.

Many also reacted to the new post and added comments like “Too late to delete, the internet always wins,” “Posted a Maldives pic and deleted”, “Dude, you were supposed to promote Indian islands, but you ended up posting pics of the Maldives!”, etc.

Notably, Ranveer Singh is not the only celebrity to follow the line. Many others including celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Kangana Ranaut and others have also joined the ‘Visit Lakshadweep campaign’ under the hashtag #ExploreIndianIslands.

Work Front

Last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Ranveer Singh has quite some exciting projects in the pipeline including Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, and S Shankar’s next.
