The cricket world mourned the demise of the veteran industrialist Ratan Tata and said that his legacy will continue to guide the citizens of the nation. Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons, passed away at Breach Candy Health facility in Mumbai aged 86 on Wednesday night.

From cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar to India’s Test and ODI skipper Rohit Sharma paid tribute to Indian industrialist and philanthropist. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Wednesday night that the last rites shall be performed with full state honours. Tata’s mortal remains shall be kept at the lawns of south Mumbai’s National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) from 10 am to four pm for the overall public to pay their respects, he said.

Tendulkar visited Ratan Tata’s home in Colaba on Thursday morning moreover. “In his life, and demise, Mr Ratan Tata has moved the nation. I become fortunate to spend time with him, but millions, who've never met him, feel the identical grief that I believe nowadays. Such is his impact,” Tendulkar wrote on social media platform ‘X’.

“From his love for animals to philanthropy, he showed that true progress can handiest be achieved once we look after other folks who don’t have the means to appear after themselves. Rest in peace, Mr Tata. Your legacy will continue to are living through the institutions you built and values that you just embraced,” Tendulkar added.

Rohit Sharma, who's preparing for India’s three-match Test series against New Zealand later this month, posted Ratan Tata’s picture on his Instagram story and wrote, “A man with a heart of gold. Sir, you're in a position to forever be remembered as a person who in actuality cared and lived his life to make everyone’s better.”
