‘Rohit Sharma Can Play Till He Is 50’ – Ex-Cricketer Quashes India Captain’s Retirement Rumours

New Delhi: Former India cricketer Yograj Singh slams critics who blame age for Rohit Sharma’s current form in the Indian Premier League 2024. He reckoned that the age factor should be scrapped from the game.

Yuvraj Singh’s father opined that Rohit is a great player who is never concerned about fitness and training and he should play until he can.

“I’ve never understood the talk about age. What is wrong if you are fit and performing at 40-45. The age factor should be scrapped, Rohit Sharma is a great player who never thought about fitness and training. If he does, he can play till he is 50”.

IPL 2024 campaign was majorly overshadowed by the Rohit Sharma-Hardik Pandya debacle with both players being criticised individually as well as for their impact on the team.

Both Rohit and Hardik will feature for India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 which will be played in USA and West Indies later this year. This will be Hardik’s first appreance since ODI World Cup 2023 during India vs Bangladesh clash where he got injured.
