New Delhi: Rohit Sharma tried to plant the Indian Tricolor at the Kensington Oval in Barbados after India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the T20 World Cup 2024 final on Saturday. On an emotion-filled day, India thus ended their 11-year wait for a global trophy. It was India’s second T20 World Cup victory after they had won it in 2007 under the legendary MS Dhoni in South Africa, and first since winning the Champions Trophy in 2013.

Soon after the win when all the players were celebrating, Rohit took a Tricolour from someone on the ground and tried to plant on the ground.
