Silkyara Tunnel Collapse: Amit Shah congratulates rescue workers for successful evacuation

Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his gratitude to all rescue personnel after the 41 trapped workers were evacuated from the collapsed Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarakhand on Tuesday evening.

“It is great news for the nation that all our 41 Shramik brothers trapped in a tunnel in Uttarkashi have been rescued safe and sound. Nation salutes their grit in facing such a challenging situation in the tunnel for so long,” Amit Shah said in a statement on social media.

“My heartfelt gratitude to all the people and the agencies that have made tireless efforts to save the lives of our fellow citizens,” he added.

All 41 trapped workers were rescued from the Silkyari tunnel in Uttarakhand on Tuesday evening after a harrowing ordeal that lasted for 17 tense days. The successful evacuation followed several days of painstaking and tense recue efforts by several agencies.
