'Someday I want to be a Blackcap': Toss mascot shares heartfelt note to New Zealand team after witnessing NZ vs PAK T20I

Will, the kid who was the toss mascot during the second T20I between New Zealand and Pakistan in Hamilton in January, shared a heartwarming note to the New Zealand cricket team and their players, thanking them for picking him as the coin toss kid. In the note, Will also went onto share that he dreams of representing the Black Caps one day.

“Thank you for picking me to be the coin toss kid at the Blackcaps vs Pakistan game in Seddon Park, Hamilton that was played last night. I really liked it and I and I got most players signatures on my bat I was a little nervous to start with but every one was nice to me,” Will wrote in the note that was shared on New Zealand cricket team’s official Instagram handle.

“Some day I want to be a Blackcap myself thanks for letting me do that last night from Will,” Will added in the note.

Will also took photos with New Zealand cricketers Ish Sodhi and Daryl Mitchell. He got the opportunity to support the Kiwis from the sidelines, witnessing Finn Alen’s knock of 74 that would take them to 194/8.

In reply, Adam Milne took four wickets as New Zealand restricted Pakistan to 173, clinching a 21-run win. New Zealand would later win the five-match series with a 4-1 margin.
