This Is How Much It Costs to Rent Taylor Swift's Former NYC Pad

As one of the world's best-selling performers for more than a decade, Taylor Swift has amassed significant wealth and an expansive real estate portfolio that, by the latest estimates, is worth over $150 million.

Some of the properties owned by the singer-songwriter -- whose concerts sell out within seconds and prompt scalping scandals -- include luxury apartments in New York, an 11,000-square-foot mansion in Los Angeles and sprawling estates in Nashville and Rhode Island.

While Swift only lived in the 5,550-square-foot apartment on 23 Cornelia for a half a year between 2016 and 2017 while her newly-purchased apartments in Tribeca were undergoing renovations, the time spent there was significant enough to inspire "Cornelia Street" — the 2019 song hit song was downloaded millions of times and hit the top 50 list in the US, Canada, Australia and Singapore.

Swift eventually moved out of 23 Cornelia Street and, nearly seven years later, the owner of the property is once again looking for someone to rent it for between $45,000 and $49,500 a month — it has been on and off the rental market several times over the years.

Corcoran real estate agent Laurence Carty is representing the property and first broke the new listing to TMZ. He told the celebrity gossip site that the owner wants to lock-in a 12-month lease but would also consider a sale if an offer comes along — it is not, at present, on the market as a sale.

The astronomical monthly rental price has to do with everything from the size of the place to the luxurious location in Manhattan's West Village — while listed as a four-bedroom, the townhome spans four stories and 5,500 square feet.

The residence comes with three fireplaces, a rooftop terrace and its own indoor pool. Each of the bedroom suites making up the wider property come with its own terrace and sprawling closets while the entire place maintains a "rustic chic" look with exposed beams and leaded windows.

"I rent a place on Cornelia Street, I say casually in the car," Swift wrote in the 2019 song. She had, back in 2014, purchased two adjoining townhomes in the Tribeca neighborhood for $20 million and undertook an extensive renovation project during which she rented on Cornelia Street.

Swift has since purchased other apartments in Tribeca but has not sold the two side-by-side lofts.

'I'd Never Walk Cornelia Street Again'

The 23 Cornelia Street building was built in 1870 and was originally a horse stable and carriage house before, with time, starting to attract a range of wealthy and famous residents.

After Swift moved out, it was also briefly used as a showroom for Italian furniture company Zanotta.

The owner of the property has worked hard to remain private — one of the reasons Swift picked the spot back in 2016 is due to high level of security the building offers. While the song "Cornelia Street" is far from Swift's most well-known and widely downloaded, it is also beloved by fans due to its intimate references to Swift's home that have become significantly less frequent in the years since.

"I'd never walk Cornelia Street again," the song finishes in what is widely viewed as a reference to a failed relationship
