Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan has been married for 16 years now. But currently, there are speculations that the couple have separated from one one more. Well, not among the actors have addressed the continued rumours. In between the continued family feud, an old video is been doing rounds on the online, where Jaya Bachchan has publicly announced her future daughter-in-law on Amitabh Bachchan’s sixtieth birthday. It appears, it wasn’t Aishwarya Rai, but this actress that Abhishek Bachchan was once speculated to get married to.

In 2002, Jaya Bachchan introduced Karisma Kapoor as her bahu and welcomed her into the family one day of an event. Amid Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan divorce rumours, the video from the event has once again surfaced on social media. At some point of the video, Jaya Bachchan may perhaps be heard saying, “I would, with the Bachchan and Nanda family, welcome one more family into our group and that’s the Kapoors – Randhir and Babita Kapoor. And to be my daughter-in-law, Karisma Kapoor. That’s Abhishek’s gift to his parents on his father’s sixtieth birthday.”

The video is doing waves on the online and has garnered a couple of reactions from the netizens. Nevertheless, their marriage faced difficulties, and later they got divorced in 2016.

Till date, Abhishek and Karishma’s break-up is a mystery which remains to be unsolved. Some reports suggest that it was once Babita Kapoor’s interference in Bachchan family’s personal matters that played a role, others claim that Jaya Bachchan asked Karishma to provide up her acting career before marriage, which Karishma was once unwilling to do.
