New Delhi: MS Dhoni’s fate with the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025 will also be decided later in the month as the two-time World Cup-winning former Indian captain is set to fulfill the five-time champions in Mumbai in mid-October, per reports. Dhoni’s future with CSK has always been a subject matter of dialogue as soon as a season ends and a season nears, for the past five years.

Though Dhoni played with a knee injury in IPL 2023 and led the team to the title, the forty three-year-old stepped down from captaincy in the following season, passing on the baton to Ruturaj Gaikwad. CSK finished fifth in the table and the Dhoni discussion continued.

With the BCCI announcing the IPL 2025 retention rules, Dhoni will likely be go below the uncapped category for a price of Rs four crore, if retained.
