This web show beats 'Scam 1992', 'Mirzapur', 'Sacred Games' with over 4 crore viewership

Some of the most successful and binged shows on OTT have been Sacred Games (Netflix), Mirzapur (Amazon Prime Video) and Scam 1992 (Sony LIV). However, there’s another show that has marched ahead of all of these names in terms of viewership according to a list by Ormax Media.

The show in question is Farzi, starring Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Raashi Khanna, which streamed on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year. The list states that Farzi that was directed by Raj and DK, has amassed a viewership of over 4 crore.

Shahid Kapoor won over numerous hearts with his outstanding performance as the disillusioned artist Sunny in the black comedy, Farzi. Given that the web series received a lot of love and admiration from the audience, movie buffs were looking forward to the second season of the show.

Recently, the protagonist of the web series, Shahid Kapoor confirmed the sequel to Farzi. Talking to Pinkvilla, the Jab We Met actor recently revealed that the second season of the web show is taking place for sure.

He said, “So of course, the second season of Farzi will happen. I mean, the response was amazing. Also, the way the story ended, it was open-ended so there is an opportunity for a lot more to happen. It was not like a culmination.”

For the unversed, the first season of the show ended on a cliffhanger. The last scene features the protagonist burning the entire consignment of the fake currency. On the other hand, Megha (Raashii Khanna), whom Sunny (Shahid Kapoor) has fallen for, is on the verge of realising that her boyfriend is the criminal she has been tracking down all along. Such an ending left a lot of scope for another season of the show.
