Ambassadors and diplomats of more than 70 nations have arrived in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi Monday on the occasion of Guru Purnima. They will witness the annual Dev Deepavali on Kartik Purnima and take a cruise on river Ganga.

The envoy and diplomats will also witness the Ganga Arti.

Apart from these diplomats, 150 other foreign delegates will also witness the splendor of Dev Deepavali.

On Dev Deepavali, tourists congregate from Assi Ghat to Namo Ghat on the banks of river Ganga.

Upon their arrival the delegates and guests were be welcomed by folk artistes through cultural programs.

Security arrangement in Varanasi for Dev Deepavali

As many as 20 watch towers have been erected for monitoring Dev Deepavali on the banks of river Ganga in Varanasi. There will be two guards on each watch tower will be equipped with wireless sets, dragon lights and PA systems. One inspector will also be deployed on the watch towers set up on seven major ghats including Assi, Dashashwamedh, Namo Ghat.

Apart from the force of the Commissionerate, eight Deputy SPs, six Inspectors, 70 Sub Inspectors, 680 Head Constable-Constables, five Company PACs, one ATS Commando came from outside to maintain the security arrangements in the city from Sunday to Tuesday. Team and a bomb disposal squad will be deployed.
