Woman contracts thugs to burn estranged son's bike, but goons attack, damage her house when she comes up short

A plan for an attack went wrong in a surprising twist. Thugs, hired by a woman to burn her estranged son’s motorbike, are said to have attacked and damaged her home following a dispute over the money she owed them for their illegal deed, according to the police on Monday.

This incident occurred in Melattur, a town in the northern Kerala district, last Friday.

The authorities reported that three individuals, namely Kaja Hussain (aged 39), Nasser (aged 35), and Mehaboob (aged 58), who allegedly assaulted and vandalised the home of a 48-year-old woman named Nafeesa, have been apprehended. Another suspect, Shihab (aged 36), is currently on the run.

The police explained that Nafeesa had enlisted the services of these individuals approximately two months ago due to family disputes. She had requested her son to return the motorcycle she had bought for him, but when he refused, she supposedly hired the thugs to set it on fire.

The police subsequently arrested the three individuals, along with Nafeesa, in connection with this case. “Now, after the thugs were released on bail, it appears they had a disagreement concerning the payment promised by the woman,” stated the police. They further noted that the accused individuals have criminal records and will soon face charges under the Kerala Anti-social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA).
