World Cup 2023: South Africa's Quinton de Kock leads top 10 run-getters' list; Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli also feature

The 2023 ODI World Cup has entered it’s second half, and the race for the semi-finals is well and truly on. Hosts India have maintained a perfect start to the tournament, with six wins in as many matches, whereas defending champions England are languishing at the wrong end of the standings in tenth place, with just two points from six games.

This has been a batters’ tournament so far, with teams like South Africa and Australia posting scores in excess of 300 on multiple occasions.

As far as the top batters are concerned, only three of them have surpassed the 400-run figure in the tournament.

South Africa’s Quinton de Kock leads the batting charts with 431 runs in the tournament, followed by Australia opener David Warner (413 runs) and New Zealand’s batting sensation Rachin Ravindra (406).

With three centuries to his name in the tournament, Quinton de Kock remains a favourite to end the tournament as the top run-getter, but Warner and Ravindra are not far behind.

Rohit Sharma (398) and Virat Kohli (354) are the India batters who feature in the top-10 batters of the 2023 World Cup. The duo have been the backbone of the India batting lineup in this World Cup, and have a century each to their name.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan (333) is just below Virat Kohli in seventh place.

Sri Lanka have had a mixed tournament so far. After starting off with three successive defeats, the 1996 World Cup champions went onto beat Netherlands before stunning defending champions England.

Sadeera Samarawickrama has been the Lankan’s most impressive batter so far, with 328 runs. He features in the top 10 batters’ list, with one century and two fifties to his name.

Daryl Mitchell (322) and Heinrich Klaasen (300) complete the top 10 batters.
