69th Filmfare Awards: Rani Mukerji & Shefali Shah share the Best Actress (Critics) trophy for their performance

At the recently held 69th Filmfare Awards, Rani Mukerji & Shefali Shah shared the Best Actress (Critics) trophy for their performance. Mukerji won the award for ‘Mrs Chatterjee v/s Norway‘ whereas Shah was awarded the black lady for her turn as a woman with dementia in ‘Three of Us’.

In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, talking about the success of her film, Rani Mukerji told the publication, “I think the success of the film is because of the audience, you know, if the audience hadn’t given the film a chance then you and I wouldn’t have been doing this interview. I believe that good cinema will find its audience. And this is what happened with this film, and I’m really grateful to the audience for having given the film a chance on the big screen. Because the most fashionable word today among cinema lovers is ‘OTT content. This really bothers me because I am a cinema child and I have grown on a diet of big screen cinema. And for me, I believe in the ‘magic of cinema’.”

And Shefali Shah, while speaking to Firstpost, said this about her character in her film, “I think the vulnerability, but the fact is that on the screen, you rarely see me like this. You have always seen me play these strong characters because that’s what my image is. But there’s a very very vulnerable side to me in Three Of Us that I share with her; however, she’s far more delicate and far more fragile. And it also has to do with the fact that she’s losing grip on herself.”
