With Axar Patel ruled out, a change is needed for someone to bowl his quota of overs. Will it be Shardul Thakur or Washington Sundar? If the surface is spin friendly, Sundar could slot right in. Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed that tickets for the Asia Cup final have been sold out and that the gates at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo will open at 12 p.m.

"Tickets for the finals of the Asia Cup 2023 have been sold out. Hence, the public is advised not to arrive at ticket counters or the ground to purchase tickets to watch the epic final between Sri Lanka and India. The ones who have purchased tickets to watch the final are advised to arrive early in order to avoid congestion. The gates at RPICS, Colombo, will be opened at 12 p.m. today for the public with tickets to enter the ground," SLC said.

Reserve Day rule explained:

Organisers are expected to follow the same rule as they did during India vs Pakistan Super 4 match. The effort will be to complete the match on Sunday despite rain interruptions. This means the overs will be reduced to complete a 20-overs per side game and even if this is not possible, the match will be moved to the reserve day on Monday. The action will resume from the point where it ended on Sunday (17th September).
