"John Heald we are on the Carnival Horizon. DH has to establish his blood pressure a few times a week. We failed to bring his machine with us. We went to the medical center/infirmary to have a routine blood pressure check and were charged. How can Carnival justify a charge for that? The nickel and diming of us is uncontrolled," she wrote.

Heald pushed back at the complaint.

"Thank you, yes, there's a charge for every medical service onboard the ship. I’m pretty certain that if you happen to would prefer to should do that on land in North America that there would greater than likely be a charge if you happen to went to your doctor on land. I is likely to be wrong. But yes, there's a charge for all medical services and products on board and I don’t know if the insurance will cover it?" he wrote.

"What I do know is that reading the words 'nickel and diming' has put my blood pressure up of course. I had better check," he wrote.

He made clear that medical care is an added expense.

"Anyway, yes there's a charge for all medical checks contained in the medical center on the opposite hand the wonderful nurses and doctors gives you expert care if you happen to want it. Some passengers did see all sides of the issue.

"I know people put out of your mind things your complete time so it should well be nice to present this service totally free or now not not up to a really small amount since it should well best take a small time period but I also keep in mind that Carnival is paying this body of workers so there must be some payment plus if Carnival started doing this it should well just take that department down a slippery slope of people complaining saying 'they got this service so I should get this service totally free,'" wrote Barry Walker.
