Content creator Kamiya Jani clears the air over visit to Jagganath Temple after being called 'beef-promoter' by BJP
Content creator and YouTuber Kamiya Jani, who also is the founder of the popular channel Curly Tales, was mired in a controversy recently. She has now issued a clarification about the same.
What happened?
She recently paid a visit to the Jagganath Temple along with Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader VK Pandian, and the Bhartiya Janta Party raised objections on the same. They called Jani a ‘beef-promoter’ and alleged it was Pandian who gave her access to the 12th century shrine.
Indian politician and minister of Rural Development Giriraj Singh wrote on X- “The violation of sanctity in Puri Shrimandir is extremely disturbing. By VK Pandian Allowing a beef promoter inside the iconic Jagannath temple is a disregard for religion, history and spirituality. Immediate and serious action is necessary for those responsible.”
pic.twitter.com/PEhC4Syb6U— Shandilya Giriraj Singh (@girirajsinghbjp) December 23, 2023
Jani issues statement
Issuing a clarification on her Instagram page via a video, Jani said she never ate beef in her life.
She said, “In the wake of the recent controversy, it is important that I put out real facts and the truth,” she said. “My motive behind going to Jagannath was to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath and present information about the temple’s infrastructure. I am a practising Hindu. I have never eaten beef, and don’t promote it ever.”
