The actor recently opened up on how once he had Rs 18 in his bank and was even ready to take up any role that came to him. In an interview, Vijay further revealed that he took up a role against his choice just for money.

Vijay Varma shares his struggle story

The actor in his interview with the Galatta Plus recounted the same and said how it has always been about the roles for him. Vijay further recalled the time when he had only Rs 18 in his bank account and received a call for a film.

Mentioning that it was a one-day job for the role of a small reporter in exchange for Rs 3,000, he said, “I never wanted to play a role like that but I took it. I went and I started shooting. My heart wasn’t there, my conviction wasn’t there and I was fumbling in the take.”

However, this was not it. While the actor agreed to the role, he later lost the role due to English dialogues.

“As it isn’t easy to play an English reporter, I got fired on the set. I had just finished Monsoon Shootout by that time, so I had a lead role by then. However, I went through that experience and I was crying on my way back, I told myself that I would never take up anything for money. This happened in 2014 and I haven’t done anything for money since then,” he added.

Notably, this is not the first time that the actor has opened up about his struggles. Earlier in a conversation with ETimes, Vijay recalled how there was a time when he couldn’t find takers for his films.
