India fought a lot harder in the second game with all-rounder Deepti Sharma’s sensational five-for (5/38) reducing the Aussies to 219/8 at one stage. A series of dropped catches towards the end of the Australian innings however, allowed them to post 258 in the end. The Women in Blue were also going strong in their chase and appeared favourites for a series-leveling victory at 218/4, with Richa Ghosh batting on 96. Ghosh’s dismissal, however, would trigger a collapse as the hosts lost their next four wickets for just 25 runs and fell short of the Aussie total by just three runs.
