Indian Women’s Team to Enter 10-Day Training Camp Before Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 In UAE

New Delhi: The Indian females’s cricket team will undergo a 10-day skills camp on the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, going into the much-awaited Women folk’s T20 World Cup 2024, to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates.

Consistent with reports by Cricbuzz, head coach Amol Muzumdar will oversee the total camp which is about to initiate on Tuesday, September 10.

The whole contingent, including reserves will report to the NCA. This, of course, includes Yastika Bhatia and Shreyanka Patil amongst others who will join the tournament in keeping with the head result of their respective fitness test subject to clearance by the NCA.

Cricbuzz reported, Both players received their NOCs after clearing their fitness test to sign up in the camp. Yastika Bhatia had picked up a knee injury – a grade 1 tear of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) – during the five-match T20I series against Bangladesh in March. She has since been rehabilitating on the NCA.

Alternatively, Shreyanka Patil suffered a fracture in her left hand during the Asia Cup 2024 opener against Pakistan in July.

One day of their preparations, the team will also participate in intra-squad matches. Alternatively, these will likely be day games brought on by the unavailability of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and the Alur facility. It’s worth noting that three out of four of India’s group-stage matches during the UAE will likely be played less than lights.

Intra-squad matches will even be a a part of the team’s preparation but as day games since the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and the Alur facility don't appear to be reachable. The coolest thing, though, is three of the four group-stage matches that India play during the UAE will likely be less than lights.

After the camp, the players will take a four-day break before returning to Mumbai and then traveling to the UAE.

India will play two warm-up games on the ICC Academy in Dubai: against the West Indies on September 29 and South Africa on October 1.

India squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh (wk), Yastika Bhatia (wk), Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh Thakur, Dayalan Hemalatha, Asha Sobhana, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, Sajana Sajeevan
