‘Jabse Sidhu Moosewala paaji ke sath hua hai tabse…’: Sonu Thukral on singers getting threats – Exclusive

Clad in an uber cool black jacket, ripped jeans, a cap, white t-shirt, and a kaala chashmah (pun intended) Sonu Thukral enters the studio but no longer by myself. While one may predict a makeup team and others with him, but we see an entourage of  men in uniform. Sonu Thukral does no longer shuttle without his security and that goes on to assert a lot.

Music is a universal language that passes borders and communities. Something that everyone connects with. There has been a steep upward thrust in Punjabi music reigning the mainstream audience with the verve and vigour of zealous beats, irresistible foot-tapping rhythms and more. With Bollywood witnessing the merge of Punjabi music in films and famous actors doing music albums not to mention, the music industry is growing all over. Nevertheless, several singers are being subjugated to death threats, firing and more. Famous singer Sonu Thukral speaks exclusively with India.com on these lines highlighting the importance of artists and the way the latest events have created an charisma of fear.

Within the sunshine of most modern events we asked Sonu if he has some sort of fear instilled in him sooner than he steps out everyday. Without thinking twice, Thukral agreed how the firing at AP Dhillon’s house, or death threats received by several singers is on a upward thrust. And people 0.5 of a dozen commandos and police personnels are a testament of that fear. “Abhi aisa lagne laga hai jabse Sidhu (Sidhu Moosewala) ke sath hua hai tabse mujhe lagta hai galat hua. Artist bahut darnel age hai. Hum toh publically shows bhi karte hain. Artists se kya bair. Artists bahut positive hote hain. Bahut mehnat se neeche se upward thrust kark kar ke apna upward thrust karte hai. U.s.sabke baad aise trouble mai aana, goliya chalna ye sab galat hai.” (After incident with Sidhu, yes we've started to feel that. I believe what has occurred became wrong. Artists have gotten fearful. I've said in different interview that why should do that with artist, They are positive other folks who upward thrust from nothing and make a reputation for themselves. After which, getting stuck in such troubles, being fired on is no longer right.)

Sidhu Mosewala became a famous Punjabi singer became killed in a gangland-style shooting in 2022. Post that several singers have reported to have received threats.
