Two succumb to injuries as fresh firing reported from Manipur

Two people died from splinter injuries in Manipur within the last 12 hours, officials said, as fierce gunbattle between two groups was reported from the Khoirentak foothills in Bishnupur district and the Chingphei and Khousabung districts in Churachandpur district on Thursday morning.

Officials said the new wave of shooting came after a few hours of silence since Wednesday evening.

According to authorities, a guy who suffered bomb splinter injuries on his head during Wednesday's unrest died on his way to Guwahati via Mizoram.

Another injured individual died at 9 a.m. on Thursday in Churachandpur district hospital, where he was being treated for splinter injuries, according to authorities.

According to police, an 18-year-old man was detained on Thursday in connection with the death of an Amazon senior manager and the injury of his uncle in northeast Delhi's Bhajanpura neighbourhood.

Bilal Gani, a resident of Subhash Mohalla in Bhajanpura, was detained at Signature Bridge about 2 a.m. on Thursday, according to police.

Harpreet Gill and his 32-year-old maternal uncle Govind Singh were shot on a bike in the Subhash Vihar neighbourhood about 11.30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gill was subsequently declared dead at a hospital.
