A horrific knife attack at Zhenxiong People’s Hospital in Yunnan province, China, resulted in the deaths of at least ten people and left around 23 others wounded. According to reports, the incident occurred at 13:20 local time. The official Xinhua News Agency said there were more than 10 casualties in what it called a “vicious assault” on Tuesday in Yunnan province.
Images published by the state-run news site The Paper appeared to show a man pointing a knife at another man wielding a stick in a hospital lobby, as well as police officers arriving at the scene. “It happened around 11 in the morning … it’s still a bit chaotic, they’re still determining the numbers,” a local resident told The Paper.
The exact motives behind the attack remain unclear as authorities investigate the tragic event.
