Koffee With Karan 8: Ranveer Singh opens up about going through a lot after delivering three flops in a row

It goes without saying that Ranveer Singh is one of the Bollywood actors who has time and again proven his mettle in the Hindi film industry. He has always pulled off and excelled in all types of roles, whether it’s romantic, comedy, or intense emotional scenes. His acting prowess has proven that he is the best when it comes to emoting on screen. However, after delivering many blockbuster movies, the star went through a rough patch in his career when his three consecutive films, 83, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Cirkus, turned out to be major flops in terms of minting box office collections.

Recently, Ranveer Singh made an appearance on the famed couch of Koffee with Karan Season 8. During his heart-to-heart conversation with Karan Johar, the actor spoke about delivering three flops in a row before his latest release, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Ranveer Singh Addressed About Three Flop Films In A Row

During the discussion with Karan Johar on his talk show, Ranveer Singh expressed that he went through a lot, especially after Cirkus (2022). Starting with his 2021 release, 83, he said that coming out of the pandemic, they had this lovely film, 83 (2021), which everybody loved. But it just released at the wrong time, as forty-eight hours before the release, they lost key markets because all shut down due to Omicron, and unfortunately, a lovely film had the stigma of being a commercial underperformer.

Then, in 2022, his comedy movie Jayeshbhai Jordaar was released, which also botched to chase big numbers. Sharing his opinion, the actor said that Jayeshbhai Jordaar was again a lovely, well-intentioned film. It ultimately found its audience on streaming, which, in the post-pandemic climate, is where it belongs.

Talking about his third flop movie, Cirkus, the actor stated that in Cirkus, he had limited contribution and limited responsibility. So, he can’t really beat himself up over it. He had not seen three major flops in a row. So, it was new to him, and he wasn’t at his best, especially three months after Cirkus.

Ranveer concluded saying that he then came to terms with everything that’s happening with and around him. He has come out of it with more gratitude in his heart than ever before. He is still there, doing what he loves to do for a living, and he looks at his life and only sees blessings and abundance.
