Pakistan: Minor Hindu girl abducted, married off to elderly man in Sindh province

Cases of atrocity against minorities are on the upward push in Pakistan. In the same incident, a Hindu girl became kidnapped and married off to an elderly man who forcibly converted her to Islam in Pakistan’s Sindh province.

A pair of days back another minor Hindu girl became handed back to her family following a court order. The 16-yr-old girl became abducted from Hyderabad.

Shiva Faqir Kaachi, who heads the Pakistan Derawar Ittehad organisation that represents the Hindu community, said the court decision became a giant relief and a victory for the affected family and their daughter.

“She is a brave girl who became put through reasonably an exceptionally extensive selection of torture. She became abducted and that they converted her forcibly and married her off to a an exceptional deal older Muslim Man,” he said.

He said his organisation had been pleading her case since last year and the police had eventually located her in Rahim Yar Khan and brought her to Hyderabad where she became put in a ladies’s safe haven home.

“The other folks filed a case in court which as of late ordered that they be given custody of their daughter,” he said.

Every other case of a Hindu girl, who became abducted just three days after her marriage, grabbed headlines in January 2022.
