Mumbai receives moderate showers, no major water-logging; IMD predicts heavy rainfall

Most parts of Mumbai received light rains with occasional spells of moderate to heavy showers on Friday, but the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the city. 
As the intensity of rain reduced, no major waterlogging was reported anywhere in the metropolis, officials said.

India and Japan explored collaborating in critical technologies, including semiconductors and resilient supply chains, as part of plans to reach a target of $35.9 billion Japanese investment in the country by 2027, officials said on Friday.

Foreign Ministers of India and Japan, S. Jaishankar and Yoshimasa Hayashi, met in New Delhi on Thursday and also discussed ways to deepen defense equipment and technology cooperation. Hayashi is on a two-day visit to the Indian capital.

Stretches of National Highway-5, at Broni Nallah and Khaneri in the Shimla district and Kaksthal in the Kinnaur district, were blocked owing to landslides after heavy showers in Himachal Pradesh, officials said on Friday.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) shared images of the blocked stretches of the highway in two Himachal districts.

However, keeping in mind the Muharram procession the day after tomorrow, to bring agility in the police force and inculcate the fear of law in the minds of mischief mongers, this is an exercise of the police force which we are doing", said Deependra Pathak, Special Commissioner of Police, Delhi on Thursday.
