Parliament Security Breach: Absconding accused Lalit Jha shared video of incident with NGO partner

While four of the six accused in the Parliament security breach case were charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on Thursday, one of them, Lalit Jha is absconding.

Two of the accused, Manoranjan D and Sagar Sharma, were arrested for jumping from the visitors’ gallery in the Lok Sabha during Zero Hour and releasing yellow gas from canisters, Neelam Azad and Amol Shinde were held for opening smoke cans outside the Parliament. The security breach took place on the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament Terror Attack.

Police sources say that Jha’s location was last traced Rajasthan’s Nimrana.

The officials said the case has been registered under IPC sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 452 (trespass), 153 (wantonly giving provocation, with intent to cause riot), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and UAPA sections 16 and 18 at the Parliament Street police station.

Who is Lalit Jha, the absconder?

The sixth accused Lalit Jha, reportedly sent videos of the incident to his NGO partner after the other four accused committed the act. Sources told News18 that Jha contacted his associate Nilasksha Aich, the founder of a West Bengal-based NGO called Samyabadi Subhas Sabha group.

Hailing from Kolkata’s Barabazar area, Jha was the unit president of the group but was later removed. He was active in various movements of the group.

Officials say that all the accused came to Delhi on separate occasions over the last few days following which Jha allegedly took them to “the house of his friend, Vicky, in Gurgaon”.

8 security parliament personnel suspended

Over eight personnel associated with the security of Lok Sabha have been suspended over dereliction of duty.

Those suspended have been identified as Rampal, Arvind, Vir Das, Ganesh, Anil, Pradeep, Vimitt and Narendra.

Security has also been heightened in the Parliament premises.

Only MPs are allowed to enter the Parliament building from Makar Dwar, and all persons entering the building are checked thoroughly by making them remove their shoes.
