Apple 15-inch MacBook Air ($1,199, originally $1,299 on Amazon)

I just reviewed the 15-inch MacBook Air earlier this week, and it delivers an ultra-portable, 3.3-pound notebook with a tremendous amount of features. You can see my full thoughts here, but the sheer thinness at just 11.5-millimeters for a 15-inch laptop is fantastic. It also sticks with the more modern, flat design that the 13-inch MacBook Air with M2 ushered in 2022.

The headline feature of the latest MacBook Air is the 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display, which gets plenty bright for easy viewing outdoors or under bright light and delivers a vibrant punch with color. It’s great for productivity tasks like typing, in which you’ll see inky blacks, but it also scales for video or photo editing, gaming, and streaming content. There is also a notch cut out centered on the top that contains the 1080p HD FaceTime camera.

It’s running macOS Ventura out of the box and will get the upgrade to macOS Sonoma when it releases later this year. With an M2 chip—8-Core CPU and 10-Core GPU—inside, you can power through nearly any thinkable task, including more intense creative ones or gaming use-cases.

Those speed efficiencies also carry over to battery life, which Apple estimates at about 18 hours, and that tracks with my testing. It will also last on standby for several days. The 15-inch MacBook Air features a MagSafe 3 charging port, two USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports, and a single headphone jack.
