Gates has announced his new podcast, called "Unconfuse Me With Bill Gates," set to debut with its first episode on July 27.

"My latest podcast is all about learning something new," announced GatesNotes

In a statement on the podcast's website, Gates explained the first thing he does when he has a hard time solving a problem.

"I like to talk to smart people who can help me understand the subject better," he wrote. "I call this process 'getting unconfused' -- and I think it is one of the best ways to learn something new."

Gates provided a brief look ahead into some topics he plans to cover in the project.

"In my new podcast, I try to get unconfused about some of the things that fascinate me," he wrote. "Join me on my learning journey as I talk to brilliant guests about Alzheimer’s, artificial intelligence, the future of education, plant-based meat, the evolution of language, marijuana, and more."

What to Expect in the First Episode

The debut of the podcast will feature actors and filmmakers Seth Rogen and his wife, Lauren Miller Rogen.

He sought to find out if the Rogens could help him erase his confusion about a number of topics, including an unconventional way to look at a ferocious disease.

"Can Alzheimer’s disease be funny? I was skeptical, especially given the devastating experience my family had watching my dad suffer from it," Gates wrote.

"So, I asked two experts in using humor to raise awareness -- Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen -- to help me see the light."

Gates explained the topics of discussion in the episode and his take on how he thought it went.

"We had a great conversation about their organization Hilarity for Charity, hope for the future of Alzheimer’s research, the importance of a good night’s sleep, the first time each of us smoked weed, and why Seth started a cannabis lifestyle company," he wrote.

Hilarity for Charity's Mission

The Rogens' organization, Hilarity for Charity, explains its goals on its website

"Hilarity for Charity (HFC) is a national non-profit on a mission to care for families impacted by Alzheimer's disease, activate the next generation of Alzheimer's advocates, and be a leader in brain health research and education," it describes.

The website also addresses the charity's purpose in more detail:

Let’s face it -- bringing up Alzheimer’s doesn’t usually make you the life of the party. Most people don’t want to think about dementia until they have to.

But here’s the deal: if we can get people talking about Alz early on, and change their behavior, we can actually prevent up to 40% of cases! And when we say change, we’re not talking Ironman training or subsisting on raw wheatgrass. We’re talking healthy lifestyle adjustments like better sleep, breathing exercises and delicious new recipes. And we’re right here to help. Already caring for someone with dementia? We’re here for you too. That’s why we’ve packed this site with support, because while there isn’t a cure (yet!), there is care.
