Suriya's film Kanguva is set to face clash with Alia Bhatt's upcoming film Jigra. While Kanguva will release on October 10, 2024, Alia's film Jigra will hit the big screens on October 11.
Suriya is all set to make a record with his upcoming high-octane action saga Kanguva, directed by Siva. The movie is based on the concept of time travel and is set to release on October 10, 2024, a day before the release of Alia Bhatt’s highly anticipated film Jigra. For the unversed, Jigra will be released on October 11, 2024. Needless to say, Suriya’s film will face competition from Alia Bhatt’s Jigra.
The promo of Kanguva received major appreciation from the audience. Its gripping time travel concept and grand VFX and war sequences won the hearts of people. Meanwhile, Suriya shared a poster of his character from the film as the warrior and dropped the caption, “In cinemas…10-10-2024 worldwide.” While tweeting the post, the actor wrote, “Dear all…It’s 10th October 2024.”
As soon as the post went up, fans wasted no time spamming the comment section. One fan wrote, “All the best from Thalaivar fans (fire and blast emojis).” Another fan commented, “The dates are locked (heart emoji) and close the gates (hot face emoji).” Another fan added, “All the best Anna (heart emoji). You have Telugu audience support as always.” A user also said, “Once again, the king has reclaimed his throne. #Kanguva will shatter all existing box office records to become Kollywood’s first 1000cr film.”
Kanguva vs. Jigra Box Office Clash
For those unaware, Alia’s Jigra is also releasing on October 11, leading to a box office clash. The film is a co-production between Alia’s home banner, Eternal Sunshine Production, and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra also stars Vedang Raina in a pivotal role.
About Kanguva
The upcoming film Kanguva features Suriya in a double role. The movie also stars Bobby Deol as the antagonist named Udhiran. The teaser showcases adrenaline-pumping sequences, including battles, aerial action, and intense fight scenes. Kanguva marks Disha Patani’s Tamil debut. Apart from leading actors Suriya and Bobby Deol, the movie also features Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, K. S. Ravikumar, and B. S. Avinash in pivotal roles.
Kanguva will be released worldwide in theaters in 3D and IMAX formats.
