TCMA Protests Against RRR Music Composer MM Keeravani for Composing ‘Jaya Jaya He Telangana’ Anthem: Here’s Why

Hyderabad: Telangana will celebrate its 10th anniversary on June 2, 2024, sparking joyous festivities across the region. To honour the occasion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has commissioned MM Keeravani, the renowned Oscar-winning composer, to craft an anthem for Telangana called “Jaya Jaya He Telangana”. The Telangana Cine Musicians Association has raised a voice of concern to CM, Revanth Reddy, to rethink his choice of letting a non-local craft the state’s anthem. They believe it contradicts the heart of Telangana’s movement to include out-of-state musicians in the creation of their state song. The association pinpoints that there’s no shortage of talented composers native to Telangana, who they believe should be favoured to pen the anthem over MM Keeravani.

In the past, MM Keeravani was approached by the Chief Minister of Telangana to compose the melody for “Jaya Jaya He Telangana.” The song’s lyrics were written by the famous Telangana poet, Andesri. The recently released version of the song is a refreshingly modern take on the original “Jaya Jaya He Telangana.”

The anthem is expected to be released on June 2, 2024, and will be dedicated to the state of Telangana, which will highlight the rich culture and ethnicity of the people of Telangana.

MM Keeravani, the esteemed music maestro celebrated for his remarkable contributions to SS Rajamouli’s RRR, is all geared up for a packed calendar, with numerous high-profile projects on his plate. His tunes will set the musical tone for the eagerly anticipated film, ‘Vishwambhara’, which features a star-studded cast including Chiranjeevi, Trisha Krishnan, Ashika Ranganath, and Meenakshi Chaudhary.

This project hails from the creative desk of Vassishta, who both penned and directed the movie, and is brought to life by producer Vishwa Prasad, under the UV Creations banner. In a further treat to fans, Keeravani will join forces again with SS Rajamouli, with the dynamic duo planning their next creation, SSMB29.
