Veteran cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi passes away at 77, Shah Rukh Khan pays his respects

Former cricketer and legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi passed away at the age of 77. Mourning his demise, Shah Rukh Khan paid his last respects and tweeted- “Growing up our lives are moulded by the spirit, the gusto and sheer grace of people who we see and experience around us. Mr. #BishanSinghBedi was one of them. May God bless his soul & thank u Sir for teaching us so much about sports & life. You will be missed immensely. RIP.”

About the veteran

Bishan Singh Bedi was a former Indian cricketer who was primarily a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He played Test cricket for India from 1966 to 1979 and formed part of the famous Indian spin quartet. He played a total of 67 Tests and took 266 wickets. He also captained the national side in 22 Test matches.

About Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan, who has delivered two very successful films this year, Pathaan and Jawan, has been provided with Y plus security by Mumbai Police. The actor will have six police commandos with him at all times, and his bodyguards, the police armed bodyguards, will be from a trained VIP security unit (special protection unit of Maharashtra police).

The security will be given to Khan all across India and they will be armed with MP-5 machine guns, AK-47 assault rifles and Glock pistols. His residence will also have four armed policemen at all times.
