Virat Kohli TAUNTS Haters Over Strike Rate Controversy During PBKS vs RCB IPL 2024 Match

Dharamsala: Virat Kohli has recently been criticised over his strike rate in T20s in recent times and with the World Cup coming up – it was being discussed and looked at as a concern. But Kohli shut his critics on Thursday with a blistering 92 off 47 balls against Punjab Kings at the HPCA in Dharamsala. Kohli’s runs came at a strike rate of 195.74. His knock was laced with six sixes and seven fours. And hence at the mid-innings break, Kohli admitted that he kept a focus on his strike rate thoughout his knock.

With a smile on his face, Kohli said, “I was focused on keeping my Strike Rate high throughout the innings.”

“I was just focussed on taking the momentum forward. There was a tricky phase when Rajat got out, and there was a break for rain and hail. We had a bit of stop of momentum. Had to rebuild for 8-10 balls. Once the base was set and Cam got a few boundaries away, I thought I had to go again. Surface was pretty dry underneath, and there was some grass coverage as well. If you saw Faf and me got done by lack of pace off the pitch,” he added.

Kohli was also awarded the player of the match for his brilliant show with the bat and on the field. He affected a brilliant runout from a difficult angle.

Meanwhile, RCB have kept their hopes for a playoff finish alive with a 60-run win over Punjab Kings. RCB have won five out of 12 matches and are currently at the seventh spot.
