WATCH: Hyderabad Police personnel groove on traditional dhol during Ganesh visarjan

Some teary-eyed, others dancing — that is how people across India are bidding adieu to Lord Ganesh as the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi festivities come to a close on 28 September with Visarjan of Gajanan’s idol.

Maharashtra and especially Mumbai hogs all the limelight during Ganesh Chaturthi with different theme-based pandals, eco-friendly idols, and celebrations as well as bhog on almost all days, but videos of Ganesh idols’ visarjan from Hyderabad are going viral on social media.

Everyone – from devotees to volunteers — as well as police personnel were deep in the festive fervour and a video shows Hyderabad police personnel dance during the ‘Ganesh Visarjan’ procession at Tank Bund.

The police officers were seen grooving to upbeat songs, traditional dhol near Tank Bund while the 63-feet Bada Ganesh of Khairtabad was taken for immersion amid elaborate security arrangements.

Ganeshotsav is celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm across various states in India. While some perform Visarjan after 1.5, 3, 5, or 7 days, the final day of festival holds significance as it is believed to mark Lord Ganesha's return to his heavenly abode.
