WATCH | Pat Cummins RATTLES Bangladesh in Super 8 With First Hattrick of T20 WC 2024

Antigua: It was a day to remember for Australia star Pat Cummins as he became just the second from his country to pick up a hattrick in a T20 World Cup match. Cummins came up with the goods on Friday as he picked up a hattrick to rattle the Bangladesh side in a crucial Super 8 game in Antigua. His hattrick was spread across two overs. His first wicket of the hattrick came off the penultimate ball of the 18th over. Mahmudullah chopped a back of a length delivery onto his stumps. Then Mahadi Hasan guided a shortish delivery outside the off stump to third man.

The third of his hattrick was the wicket of Taskin Ahmed. Here is his hattrick:

This is the seventh hattrick in the history of the T20 WC. Brett Lee is the other Australian to have done it. Lee was the first to do it in 2007. Lee picked up the hattrick against Bangladesh itself.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh managed to post 140 for eight in 20 overs. It would be interesting to see if they can defend this low total.

“We had the experience of playing here last week. We kinda knew what to expect. The wicket is a little bit different from last time. The odd ball is doing something funny, but generally pretty good wicket,” Adam Zampa during the mid-innings break.
